get rommel

the secret british mission to kill hitler's greatest general

 michael usher

In the summer of 1941 Hitler had sent Edwin Rommel to North Africa in order to halt the British advance into Libya. Not only did he stop the advance but he drove it back upon itself to its Egyptian base. His invincibility on the battlefield caused the British to plan his demise through a covert operation by highly trained SAS teams.

Poor planning and incompetence caused this attempt to fail. But on behalf of the men themselves, who parachuted behind enemy lines there were a great many instances of extreme bravery and great heroism, made possible by quick thinking and the ability to improvise.. Only a handful of men survived to tell the stories of those who did not make it.
