AUSTRALIAN PARTISAN [WW2 - ITALY - 2/33 BATTALION - ITALIAN PARTISANS] LYNETTE OATES A 'Rat of Tobruk' with 2/33 Battalion, Ian Sproule was captured and later escaped an Italian POW camp. Forming a small ANZAC sub-unit, he and mates fought with Italian partisans in the area around the Aosta Valley in northern Italy.
